Garment Manufacturers Sourcing Expo 2012 to Uplift Thai Textile and Garment Produce Value
Due to the business efficiency of textile and garment industry, Thailand is one of important sourcing centers of the industry in ASEAN region. It offers a rich array of raw materials, advanced technologies, fine craftsmanship, and punctual delivery, resulting in a strong confidence among Thailand’s trade partners. This confidence is shown in USD 7.2 billion dollars export value last year through major markets of USA, Japan, China, UAE, UK and Vietnam, while the ASEAN and Asia markets are the potential ones.
TGMA Confident Thai Garment Export will Grow According to Mr. Sukij Kongpiyacharn, President of Thai Garment Manufacturers Association (TGMA), garment and textile exports from China had dropped significantly in the past years as it faced higher labor cost and a shortage of workers. Exports from Thailand are benefiting from these problems in China. Thus, TGMA is confident that exports of Thai clothing will grow by 5 percent this year to USD 3.5 billion, from USD 3.2 billion in 2010. Open in 2 categories (including Sports Wear and Lingerie), the Contest will open new window of opportunity for all contestants as it will bridge them directly to industrialists.
